Health and Wellness centres inaugurated in Dindigul

Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, through video conference, inaugurated Primary Health Centres (PHC), Urban Primary Health Centres (UPHC) and Wellness Centres in Dindigul district on Thursday.

Minister for Food and Civil Supplies R. Sakkarapani and others were present during the inauguration of the Primary Health Centre in Markampatti in Oddanchatram in Dindigul district.

The Chief Minister inaugurated 208 Urban Health and Wellness Centres and 50 Primary and Urban Health Centres across Tamil Nadu through video conference from Chennai. In Dindigul district, PHCs were opened at Markampatti, Adalur, Pandrimalai and Urban Primary Health Centre was inaugurated in Kodaikanal.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister Sakkarapani said that the new PHC at Markampatti was constructed at a cost of Rs.1.20 crore. Work was underway to improve infrastructure facilities at Oddanchatram Government Hospital at a cost of Rs.25 crore., he said. Education and healthcare were the two eyes of the government and there was focus on the two sectors, he added.
