Appala Naidu · The HinduThe Regional Science Museum in Rajamahendravaram will be named after noted nuclear physicist and retired Andhra University professor Swamy Gnanananda (1896-1969), says Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Environment, Forest, Science and Technology K. Pawan Kalyan.
Union Minister of Tourism and Culture Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and Mr. Pawan Kalyan on Thursday inaugurated the museum, near Bommuru. The museum was built on a five-acre campus with ₹15.20 crore under the aegis of the National Council of Science Museums of the Ministry of Culture.
In his address, Mr. Shekhawat said the museum would help students develop scientific temper, improve analytical and scientific thinking. The museum would also encourage scientific innovations, he added.
State Minister for Tourism and Culture Kandula Durgesh and Rajamahendravaram MP D. Purandeswari were among others present.
