BJP slams Rahul Gandhi for saying PM Modi ‘Surrendered’ to Trump
by Staff Reporter · The PioneerWhile addressing the Congress leaders here on Tuesday, Congress leader and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi launched a scathing critique of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, alleging that Modi capitulated to external pressure from US President Donald Trump by halting Operation Sindoor, a military initiative against Pakistan.
Gandhi claimed that Modi ceased the operation following a call from Trump, stating, "Donald Trump called from there and said - Narender.. surrender. Here, Narendra Modi followed Trump's gesture by saying 'Yes Sir'."
Operation Sindoor was initiated in response to a terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, and aimed to target terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. Gandhi's remarks suggest that the Prime Minister's decision to halt the operation was influenced by foreign intervention, raising concerns about India's strategic autonomy.
In the same address, Gandhi criticized the BJP and RSS, asserting that they panic under pressure, contrasting this with the Congress party's resilience.
Turning his focus inward, Gandhi addressed Congress leaders in Madhya Pradesh, categorizing them as "race horses," "wedding horses," and "lame horses." He emphasized the importance of district working presidents, stating, "Among you, there will be people who work with full strength and heart for the Congress. And there will also be people who are tired or in a bad mood, or under too much stress."
Gandhi's comments have sparked political controversy, with BJP leaders accusing him of undermining national security and disrespecting the armed forces. Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy criticized Gandhi for allegedly alerting Pakistan about Operation Sindoor and accused him of siding with Pakistan's interests.
The Congress leader's remarks have intensified the political discourse, highlighting the ongoing tensions between the ruling BJP and the opposition Congress party.
Madhya Pradesh BJP Secretary Rajneesh Agrawal has strongly criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for his remarks about Prime Minister Narendra Modi, made during a Congress event in Bhopal. Gandhi alleged that Modi "surrendered" to US President Donald Trump during the recent India-Pakistan conflict, claiming that a phone call from Trump led to India's ceasefire. He contrasted this with the firm stance taken by former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi during the 1971 war.
In response, Agrawal described Gandhi's comments as "indecent" and questioned his patriotism.
He suggested that Gandhi's remarks align with narratives favorable to Pakistan and accused him of misleading the public. Agrawal also pointed out that Gandhi had paid tributep to his grandmother, former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, without removing his shoes, which he deemed disrespectful to Indian traditions. He concluded by stating that Gandhi's actions reflect his values and that Indians view him as "an agent of Pakistan.”
