Calls to reopen Andrew probe over 'three new links to Epstein victims'

by · Mail Online

The Metropolitan Police last night faced calls to reopen a probe into Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor after a tranche of documents linked him to at least three more victims of paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

A bombshell disclosure from the vast Epstein Files this weekend included shocking pictures of the former Duke of York on his knees and crouching over a woman lying on the floor. In two disturbing images Andrew appears to be touching the woman's stomach.

The pictures, believed to have been taken in Epstein's £60million New York mansion, provoked widespread condemnation and prompted Sir Keir Starmer to repeat his call for Andrew to tell the US Congress what he knew about the disgraced financier.

For more than a decade, Andrew, 65, has faced accusations that he sexually assaulted Virginia Giuffre when she was 17 after she was trafficked by Epstein. Andrew repeatedly and strenuously denied her claims.

But now the publication of three million new documents, including 2,000 videos and 180,000 images, has linked Andrew - who was stripped of his royal titles in November - to more victims in Epstein's vast network of abuse.

US lawyer Gloria Allred, who has represented 27 of Epstein's victims, said: 'The Metropolitan Police should reopen their investigation of Andrew.

'In addition, Andrew should volunteer to speak to Congress, even though he has denied that he has committed any crime.

'He should do this to help the survivors learn what he observed and what was going on at the crime scene.

'The crime scene was every residence of Jeffrey Epstein, and Andrew stayed with Epstein at a number of his homes.'

One document released by the US Justice Department revealed how, in 2020, an unnamed woman told a prosecutor in New York that Ghislaine Maxwell, who was jailed for 20 years for helping Epstein abuse young girls, 'tried to get her to have sex with Prince Andrew.'

In another series of emails - originally revealed by The Mail on Sunday in October - Epstein arranged for Andrew to have dinner with a 26-year-old Russian woman in 2010.

Describing her as 'clever' and 'beautiful', Epstein added: 'She is expecting your call.'

The woman's legal representative told the MoS last year that the woman was 'not only abused by Epstein but trafficked by him for many years', adding: 'She has suffered a great deal of harm as a consequence of the horrific sexual abuse she was forced to endure.'

A third file revealed how another victim claimed to have had an 'interaction' with both Epstein and Andrew at the paedophile's New York mansion.

This is believed to have taken place during Andrew's infamous visit to Manhattan in December 2010, at which he falsely claimed to have ended his relationship with Epstein.

It is unclear whether the 'interaction' involved sexual activity and the woman's lawyer this weekend declined to comment.

Meanwhile, in a string of further extraordinary revelations: Andrew shared with Epstein a 'confidential' document about 'investment opportunities' in Helmand, Afghanistan, at the height of the war against the Taliban;

The former prince moaned to Maxwell that the 2003 Iraq War was stopping him from going on holiday;

Andrew's ex-wife Sarah Ferguson offered Epstein and his friends VIP tours of Buckingham Palace;

UK authorities were concerned in 2021 that Andrew could become a criminal suspect in the FBI investigation into Epstein.

The documents revealed that Andrew arranged an intimate dinner with Epstein and three women, named only as Sarah, Sue and Vera, at Buckingham Palace in September 2010.

Further emails in November 2010 show Mountbatten-Windsor saying he was 'really looking forward' to seeing Epstein the next month, adding: 'Some interesting things to discuss and plot...'

Meanwhile, in an extraordinary set of three pictures, Andrew is seen looking directly at the camera as he kneels on all fours above a woman whose face is redacted.

BREAKING NEWS
Disturbing photos in Epstein files appear to show former prince Andrew on all fours over female

The former duke was yesterday pictured driving in Windsor Great Park wearing what appeared to be the same watch as the one in the photograph in Epstein's mansion.

US congressman Suhas Subramanyam last night described the pictures as 'heinous' and repeated his call for Andrew to tell Congress what he knows 'in our pursuit of justice for the victims'.

Among the millions of pages of files unexpectedly released on Friday was a bombshell email, first leaked to the MoS last year, which showed how Andrew asked his taxpayer-funded personal protection officer to investigate Ms Giuffre and passed him her confidential US social security number.

The Met said at the time it was looking into the revelations but in December, to the dismay of the late Ms Giuffre's family, the Met said it was 'taking no further action'.

Last night, royal author Andrew Lownie said: 'The release of these documents provides a stronger case for the Met to re-look at the accusations against Andrew. There are good reasons now for the Met to reopen the case.'

The new files provide fresh insight into the close relationship between Andrew and Maxwell.

In February 2002 Maxwell emailed an unnamed person ahead of a trip Andrew was making to Peru saying: 'Hi gorgeous. My friend Prince Andrew is coming to your country in a couple of weeks. I thought that it would be fun if you looked after him one night…are you around?'

Second Epstein victim claims she 'had sex with former Prince Andrew at Royal Lodge'

In 2010, during the most intense fighting in Afghanistan, Andrew sent Epstein a 'confidential' briefing prepared by the UK-led Helmand Provincial Reconstruction Team asking for the financier's 'comments, views or ideas'.

Another document - an August 2021 email sent from the US embassy in London - raised concerns about how Andrew's refusal to speak to American investigators could put a strain on the US-UK special relationship.

Asked yesterday if Andrew should give evidence to Congress, Sir Keir Starmer replied: 'Yes... Anybody who has got information should be prepared to share that information in whatever form they are asked to.'

Andrew has always denied any wrongdoing.
