JD Vance goes nuclear on 'disgusting' attacks against wife Usha
by WILL POTTER, US SENIOR NEWS REPORTER · Mail OnlineVice President JD Vance issued a scathing two word response to those who have insulted his wife Usha since taking office: 'Eat s***.'
'Let me be clear. Anyone who attacks my wife, whether their name is Jen Psaki or Nick Fuentes, can eat s***,' Vance said in an interview with UnHerd, referencing the conservative provocateur and the former Biden administration press secretary.
'That’s my official policy as vice president of the United States.'
Vance's stern words come as the vice president has faced allegations that his marriage has been on the rocks this year, including Usha being seen without her wedding ring on official trips.
He singled out Fuentes in particular for his repeat slights at the Second Lady, which have included branding her a 'Jeet' in an insult to her Indian heritage.
When Vance was selected as Donald Trump's 2024 running mate, Fuentes also questioned: 'Who is this guy, really? Do we really expect that the guy who has an Indian wife and named their kid Vivek is going to support white identity?'
Vance has faced calls to distance himself from the influencer amid speculation he is plotting a 2028 presidential run, as Fuentes commands a huge audience despite saying in the past that he 'loves Hitler' and believes the Holocaust 'is exaggerated.'
In Vance's interview this week, he issued a sharp rebuke of Fuentes' anti-Semitic stances, saying that 'anti-Semitism, and all forms of ethnic hatred, have no place in the conservative movement.'
'Whether you’re attacking somebody because they’re white or because they’re black or because they’re Jewish, I think it’s disgusting,' Vance continued.
Vance's remarks also pointed to Psaki following the former Biden administration press secretary's comments about Usha in an appearance on the I've Had It podcast in October.
Psaki pointed to reports that the Second Couple's marriage was on the rocks, including Usha being seen without her wedding ring several times, and suggested that she needed to be rescued from the vice president.
'I always wonder what’s going on in the mind of [Vance’s] wife. Like, are you OK? Please blink four times. Come over here. We’ll save you,' Psaki said.
Vance's comments to UnHerd were published just hours after he took the stage at Turning Point USA's AmericaFest event, where Erika Kirk surprised some with an early endorsement of Vance's 2028 presidential prospects.
However, Fuentes's status as a sharply divisive MAGA leader was an inescapable issue at the conference, and his controversial following plunged the event into chaotic infighting.
Top conservative voices, most notably Tucker Carlson and Ben Shapiro, traded barbs in their speeches over Carlson hosting Fuentes on his show in October.
Shapiro collectively slammed Carlson, Candace Owens, Megyn Kelly and Steve Bannon as 'frauds' and 'grifters.' Kelly and Bannon - as well as several other prominent conservatives were notably billed alongside Shapiro at the event.

Shapiro warned 'the conservative movement is in serious danger' thanks to these conservative 'charlatans who claim to speak in the name of principle but actually traffic in conspiracism and dishonesty.'
Referring to Carlson, he said: 'If you host a Hitler apologist, Nazi-loving, anti-American piece of refuse like Nick Fuentes… The person who said that Charlie Kirk was a, quote, "idiot"... you ought to own it.'
'There is a reason that Charlie Kirk despised Nick Fuentes and indeed even chided Dinesh D'Souza for debating him.'
Carlson responded with his own barbs from the same stage.
'That guy is pompous,' Carlson began, panning Shapiro's serious tone.
He said he “laughed” while watching snippets of Shapiro’s speech backstage.
'Calls to deplatform at a Charlie Kirk event? That’s hilarious.'
Carlson also assured the crowd that he was not antisemitic after hosting Fuentes.
'Antisemitism is not just naughty, it’s immoral,' he announced.
He also complained about cancel culture, saying, 'I have a right to question your motives. Actually, why can't you answer the question? Why do you have to imply that some college kid is like some kind of Hitler-ite or something because he's asking about an event? Like what?'
Carlson asserted: 'It is okay to ask questions. And I thought that was, like, the whole reason we were against the left. They're not going to force you to get up there and make ritual denunciations.
'Because this isn't my religion. It's politics.'
