Police hunting for three suspects after 12 injured in Toronto shooting
· Sky NewsPolice in Toronto are searching for three male suspects after at least 12 people were injured in a pub shooting in the Canadian city.
None of the injuries were life-threatening, police posted on X, saying six of those injured had gunshot wounds.
Toronto Police added that the victims are aged between their 20s and mid-50s.
"One male was armed with what appears to be an assault rifle, the other two males were armed with handguns, and they walked into the bar, they produced their guns and they opened fire indiscriminately on the people sitting inside," said Superintendent Paul MacIntyre of the Toronto Police Service.
The update comes hours after Toronto police said it was searching for one suspect in relation to the shooting.
The force added that the suspect was "wearing a black balaclava" and was seen "fleeing in [a] silver car".
Police were called to reports of a shooting at the Piper Arms pub in Scarborough, a district of Toronto, at around 10.39pm local time.
The motive was not immediately clear, according to Superintendent MacIntyre, who said the shooting was "a brazen and reckless act of violence that's really shaken our community and the city itself".
Officers are urging people to avoid the scene at Progress Ave and Corporate Drive.
Armed police and several ambulances and fire engines are in the area as the hunt for the suspects continues.
Toronto paramedics told Canada's CP24 Media it was a "dynamic situation" and the injuries ranged from minor to critical. Supt MacIntyre called the victims "extremely lucky".
Olivia Chow, mayor of Toronto, said: "I am deeply troubled to hear reports of a shooting at a pub in Scarborough.
"I have spoken to (Toronto Police Chief Myron) Demkiw and he has assured me all necessary resources have been deployed. This is an early and ongoing investigation - police will provide further details.
"My thoughts are with the victims and their families."
