Police Were Called To Rob & Michele Reiner’s Home SIX Times Before Tragic Murders -- Including Once For Battery Investigation
by Perez Hilton · Perez HiltonPolice activity at the Reiner house wasn’t out of the ordinary before Rob and Michele’s tragic murders.
On December 14, the horrific discovery of the Hollywood director and his wife’s slayings in their Brentwood, California home was made. When their massage therapist couldn’t access their home, she contacted the couple’s daughter Romy, 27, who went to check up on them and unfortunately found their slashed up bodies. She called police, and when they arrived at approximately 3:40 p.m. local time, rigor mortis had apparently set in on Rob and Michele’s bodies.
Such a truly heartbreaking and unexpected tragedy. And while their son Nick has since been arrested and charged with their murders, we’re hearing that the fateful December 14 police call wasn’t the only one coming from the Reiner home over the past several years.
On Tuesday, DailyMail.com obtained Los Angeles Police Department records revealing that across the last decade, cops had been called to the home SIX times. An LAPD source told the outlet:
“There’s been quite a few calls for service at the Reiner house. The West LA division of LAPD was summoned to that home on many occasions.”
Instances included once in 2013 for a welfare check, once in 2014 for a noise complaint, once in 2017 for a “BFV INVEST,” or battery of family violence investigation, twice in 2019, the first for a welfare check and the second regarding a “918M,” or a mental health check for a male. The sixth and final call was placed after the discovery of their murders.
The LAPD source told the outlet:
“Brentwood is a fairly quiet neighborhood. You don’t generally get a lot of calls for service at a home. In this case, the officers had a recollection that they responded to the home on numerous occasions. It was significant, the number of times they visited that home.”
We previously reported that Nick had been open about his violent tendencies in the past, revealing on the Dopey podcast that he’d have drug-induced rages that would result in the destruction of Rob and Michele’s guest home, where Nick resided. We’ve also heard reports that Romy “lived in fear” of her older brother from an early age. An insider previously told the DailyMail.com:
“Even before his drug addiction, his outbursts were frightening because they seemed to come out of nowhere. She tried to stay out of his way as much as she could but it wasn’t easy … Nick was so volatile that she didn’t think it was a good idea for him to be living in a guesthouse [which he once smashed up in a drug-fueled fit of rage] on the grounds of her parents’ home. She didn’t even like the idea of him living across the street from her.”
Nick is currently being held without bail in the Twin Towers Correctional Facility, where he’s on suicide watch in solitary confinement.
Our hearts continue to be with the Reiners.
