Kid Cudi took the stand Thursday (May 22) in the federal sex trafficking case against Sean "Diddy" Combs, offering emotional testimony about his past relationship with singer Cassie and the alleged intimidation he faced from the music mogul.

The acclaimed artist, born Scott Mescudi, told the court that Diddy became enraged after discovering that he was dating Cassie, who had reportedly told Cudi that her relationship with Diddy had ended.

At one point, fearing for their safety, Cudi said he and Cassie checked into a hotel in West Hollywood to avoid a confrontational Diddy. While at the hotel, he received a call from Diddy’s assistant, Capricorn Clark, informing him that Diddy was inside his house. Alarmed, Cudi said he immediately called Diddy and asked, “What are you doing in my home?” Diddy allegedly responded, “I want to talk to you.”

When Cudi returned home, he found no sign of Diddy — but noticed that Christmas presents meant for his family had been unwrapped and his dog had been locked in the bathroom. Disturbed by the intrusion, he called the police.

The situation escalated weeks later. According to Cudi, his dog sitter called to inform him that his Porsche 911 convertible had been set on fire while parked in his driveway. Jurors were shown photographs of the aftermath, including a hole cut in the car’s fabric roof and a Molotov cocktail discovered on the passenger seat.

“When I got to the car, I could see the bottle — it was burnt up and sitting on the ground outside the vehicle,” Cudi recalled. However, when police arrived, they reportedly found the Molotov cocktail inside the driver’s seat instead.

Shaken by the incident, Cudi reached out to Diddy for a face-to-face meeting. “After the fire, I said, ‘This is getting out of hand. I need to talk to him,’” he testified. Cudi noted that he wasn’t in conflict with anyone else at the time, telling the court, “I knew he had something to do with it.”

During the meeting, Diddy allegedly asked Cudi about his dating timeline with Cassie. “His whole point was, ‘We were homies — you knew that was my girl,’” Cudi said. “I let him know she told me they were broken up, and I took her word for it.”

Cudi described Diddy as “very calm … it was weird he was so calm.” As they stood to leave, Cudi said he asked Diddy directly about the car fire. Diddy reportedly replied, “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

After their conversation, Cassie emerged from another room. Cudi admitted he was hurt to learn that she had reconciled with Combs. “We fell in love — things just happened,” he said, recalling Cassie’s words.

Despite the chaos, Cudi said he ultimately made peace with the situation after Diddy apologized. “He said sorry for all that bulls***,” Cudi testified. “It was the last thing I expected to get from him.”
