Regina Daniels: Police took Sammy to court, nobody knows where he is — Lawrence
by Ayomide Erhabor · The Eagle OnlineRegina Daniels’ brother, Lawrence “Law” Daniels, has published a blistering Instagram status alleging that their brother Sammy was taken from Lagos and moved in secret to Abuja and that the family has been left in the dark about his whereabouts.
According to Lawrence, attempts to see Sammy at multiple police commands proved abortive and his mother was denied access, while lawyers stand by as Sammy is being conveyed to the Federal Capital.
“SAMMY HAS BEEN TAKEN STRAIGHT TO COURT FROM LAGOS. NO DISCLOSURE OF THE COURT — NOBODY KNOWS HIS WHEREABOUT. WE’VE BEEN AT THE POLICE COMMAND… IS THIS A KIDNAP??” Lawrence wrote, later updating: “News Update!!! Sammy is currently at MMA being conveyed to Abuja as we speak!!! #FREESAMMY OUR LAWYERS ARE ON STANDBY!”
The post alleges further that Sammy will be moved from Area D Police Station, Mushin, and that family’s efforts to provide food, water or legal aid have been blocked until Regina comes forward.
Lawrence warned that Sammy might be taken to Maitama Police Command located close to Senator Ned Nwoko’s residence and urged Nigerians to hold Nwoko responsible “if anything happens” to any family member.
The family has also launched a petition calling for a transparent investigation into what they describe as “abuse of power, obstruction of fundamental rights and intimidation” by the senator.

The petition frames the matter as bigger than a single household dispute, warning that unchecked influence threatens democratic principles and demanding prompt legal and traditional resolution.
An open letter from Ogwashi-Uku community representatives, included in Lawrence’s post asked Senator Nwoko to respect local customs around marriage and to accept or allow the formal return of the bride price to end marital obligations, and to ensure the immediate release and safety of the detained family members within 48 hours.
The family’s social posts also list allegations including criminal conspiracy, theft, intimidation, cyber-bullying and assault, and say they have voice recordings and video evidence.
So far, there has been no public confirmation from police about the exact charges, the court handling Sammy’s case, or official comment linking any arrest to Senator Nwoko. Senator Nwoko has also not issued a response to these specific claims. The Daniels family has urged supporters to sign the petition and called for independent scrutiny as tensions continue to escalate.
