Police nab security guard for allegedly defiling 16-year-old, recover firearm
by Adenle Ahmed Abiola · The Eagle OnlineDetectives from the Ogun State Police Command have arrested a 32-year-old security guard, identified as Abraham Aneka, over allegations of defilement, criminal intimidation, and attempted robbery involving a 16-year-old girl in the Abule-Ijoko area of the state.
A statement signed by DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, Police Public Relations Officer, Ogun State Command confirmed the arrest on Friday.
He said the suspect was arrested by detectives attached to the Agbado Division following what was described as a “swift and intelligence-backed response.”
The operation also led to the recovery of a single-barrel locally made firearm allegedly used to threaten the victim during the incident.
According to information made available, the case was first reported at the Agbado Division in the early hours of June 10, 2026, by a family member of the victim.
The report stated that the incident occurred on the night of June 9, 2026, when the teenage girl was returning home and was allegedly accosted by the suspect.
“The suspect, armed with a locally made single-barrel gun, allegedly threatened her before forcibly taking her to his residence at Abule-Ijoko,” Babaseyi said.

Upon receiving the complaint, detectives reportedly swung into action immediately, launching a coordinated operation that led to the suspect’s prompt arrest.
However, the firearm allegedly used in the commission of the crime was also recovered during the operation.
Police further confirmed that the scene of the incident was visited as part of ongoing investigative procedures.
The Command disclosed that preliminary investigation revealed disturbing allegations against the suspect.
“Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect allegedly had unlawful carnal knowledge of the minor without her consent and further attempted to dispossess her of her belongings,” the police added.
Following the development, the victim was issued a medical form and taken to a hospital for examination and treatment, while investigations continue.
The police confirmed that the case has now been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Eleweran, Abeokuta, for what it described as “discreet and comprehensive investigation.”
The suspect remains in custody.
