Iranian Boeing Ceiling Falls on Screaming Passengers (VIDEO)

Passengers screamed in fear after a Sepehran Airlines Boeing 737 reportedly suffered a tyre burst that caused the aircraft to shake violently and part of its cabin ceiling to collapse.

The Boeing 737 was flying from Mashhad Nejad International Airport (MHD) to Kermanshah International Airport (KSH) in Iran on Tuesday when it experienced a mechanical failure.

The aircraft made an emergency landing back in Mashhad after a tyre on its landing gear reportedly burst.

Footage recorded by a passenger inside the aircraft and shared on Reddit shows the plane shaking violently before part of the cabin ceiling fell onto passengers.

Passengers could be heard screaming and yelling as ceiling panels fell onto those seated below, leaving sections of the aircraft’s internal structure exposed.

No injuries have been reported. After the aircraft came to a complete stop, passengers and crew evacuated safely and transferred to another flight to Kermanshah.

The Indian Express reported that the tyre burst is believed to have occurred during departure, although authorities have yet to confirm this.

Mashhad Airport temporarily closed the runway for an assessment before reopening later that day.

Previous Sepehran Airlines incident

The incident marks another problem involving the Iranian airline.

On August 25, a Sepehran Boeing 737-500 carrying 127 people from Tehran to Mashhad veered off the runway after landing, according to The Indian Express.

The aircraft stopped with its nose landing gear collapsed, but no one suffered injuries.

Iran’s Civil Aviation Organisation subsequently opened an investigation into the incident.
