Kumbh Mela Girl Monalisa Bhosle Marries Boyfriend Farman Khan In Kerala Despite Family Objections

Monalisa Bhosle, widely known as the “Kumbh Mela girl,” has tied the knot with her boyfriend Farman Khan in Kerala after reportedly seeking police assistance due to opposition from her family. The couple got married at the Nainar Temple in Thiruvananthapuram, bringing an end to the tension surrounding their relationship.
Monalisa had earlier approached the Thampanoor Police Station along with Farman and members of a film crew, stating that her family was strongly against the relationship. She reportedly told the police that her father was attempting to take her back to their hometown against her wishes. During the interaction, she made it clear that she intended to stay with Farman and proceed with their marriage despite her family’s objections.
A police officer later explained that since Monalisa is an adult, she has the legal right to make her own choices regarding her life and relationship. “She insisted that she will not go with her father and made it clear that she plans to marry her boyfriend. Since she is a major, she has the right to make her own decisions,” the officer reportedly said. After the discussion at the station, Monalisa left with Farman and members of the film crew, while her father eventually returned to his hometown.
The couple later solemnised their wedding at the Nainar Temple. Several political leaders were also present at the ceremony, including V Sivankutty, MV Govindan and AA Rahim. Speaking at the event, Rahim said that the marriage reflects the constitutional right that allows individuals from different religions to marry. “The Constitution allows people from different religions to marry. We came here to celebrate the couple,” he said.
After the ceremony, Monalisa shared that the couple chose Kerala for their wedding because they liked the state. Farman also opened up about their relationship, saying, “Ours is a six-month love story, but it feels like sixty years. I am also an actor.”
Monalisa had earlier gained widespread attention during the Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj when a video of her selling rudraksha garlands went viral on social media, turning her into an internet sensation.
