Israeli strikes across Gaza kill at least 28, mostly women and children
by Egypt Today staff · EgyptTodayCAIRO – 24 April 2025: Recent Israeli airstrikes across the Gaza Strip have killed at least 28 individuals, predominantly women and children, the Associated Press reported on Thursday, citing the enclave’s health ministry as saying.
In one incident, a strike on a police station in the northern Jabaliya area claimed the lives of at least nine people.
The Israeli military claimed that the target was a command and control center used by Hamas and Islamic Jihad group.
In the southern city of Khan Younis, three separate strikes killed at least seven individuals, including a mother and her two children, as well as two other children.
Additionally, six people were killed in strikes in central Gaza, including two women and two children.
An airstrike on a residence in Gaza City also took the lives of four children and their parents, as reported by the ministry.
The war in Gaza has so far killed over 51,300 Palestinians, including more than 1,928 fatalities since Israel resumed bombardment on 18 March, shattering a ceasefire with Hamas that persisted for two months.
Hamas has offered to release all captives they still hold in exchange for a permanent end to the war and the withdrawal of Israeli troops. Israel, however, has continued the war and seized large portions of lands in Gaza.
