Ant and Dec slam Loose Women host Jane Moore for 'ageist' and 'sexist' attack on I'm A Celeb co-stars

Ant and Dec have criticised Jane Moore for her 'unfair' comments about the 'sexist' duo Barry McGuigan and Danny Jones. Jane expressed her displeasure at being assigned washing up duties by new camp leaders Danny and Barry, alleging that the decision was both ageist and sexist.

This sparked a response from Ant and Dec during their Instagram Live session after the show. Ant commented: "I think she is being a bit unfair by saying it’s sexist and ageist. I think they were just trying to do a good job in allocating fairly, if I’m honest."

Dec responded: "Yes, I agree. I feel for Barry, he was only trying to do his best."

Ant added: "Poor little Barry."

Earlier, Ant had mentioned that it was "good to have a little bit of tetchiness in there".

He continued: "I am not surprised as it’s always about the chores. It’s always around the leader and who they give the chores to. It’s either that or the cooking."

The Loose Women host, 62, was tasked with washing up alongside Tulisa.

Earlier, viewers saw Danny and Barry deliberating over which campmates would be assigned which tasks.

Danny suggested: "Shall we talk chefs first, obviously me and Melvin can't do that."

Barry responded: "Wood duty needs to be somebody who's strong and has good stamina."

When Danny proposed Jane for washing up, he questioned: "I think we have to put Jane on washing up but the only thing I want to say is have we gone a bit male heavy on the strenuous jobs?"

But Barry replied: "I think that's a fair comment but I don't think they'd thank us after a few days."

After assigning Jane and Tulisa the washing-up duties, Jane exclaimed: "Oh what? Is that because we're women?"

Barry suggested that, at 62, a year his junior, Jane might prefer something less strenuous, prompting Jane to retort, "so ageist and sexist."

Oti Mabuse later observed: "You could cut the tension with a knife."

Jane later aired her grievances to Danny: "Those were my last words as you walked past me, 'please not cleaning', and you've given me cleaning."

She continued, expressing her discontent about gender roles, saying: "I'm not upset, I'm just saying it's women doing the washing up again."

Her remarks have resulted in significant backlash on social media, leaving Ant and Dec alongside many others shocked.

After the incident, Barry and Danny appeared noticeably downhearted.

Earlier in the show, Coleen Rooney had some choice words for Donald Trump, recalling an encounter with him when they were invited to the White House for Christmas during their time in the US.

Relaying the incident to campmates, she said: "When we lived in America, we got invited to the White House for Christmas and we went in to meet Donald Trump.

She said: "So we walked in and we had to get the official photograph taken in front of the Christmas tree.

"So Donald Trump said to his son 'See? Told you, all the soccer players get the good-looking girls'.

"And I told my mum, I was like 'dirty bastard."
