Donald Trump is back online attempting to squash further discussion on the files related to Jeffrey Epstein.

In case you're not up to speed, the Trump administration previously promised to release documents related to the Epstein case, with some officials even previously pedaling conspiracy theories on what would be uncovered. Attorney General Pam Bondi said in February that a client list was "sitting on her desk," and she would review it at Trump's direction. However, earlier this month, the Department of Justice and the FBI released a memo stating there is no evidence of a client list or Epstein blackmailing influential figures, per an Axios report.

Now, Trump is trying to quell supporters who continue to question the shift on Epstein. In a lengthy Truth Social post on Saturday, July 12, Trump defended Bondi amid attacks by his supporters, suggested files related to Epstein are "fake" creations of "Radical Left Lunatics," and encouraged his followers to "not waste Time and Energy" on Epstein.

"One year ago our Country was DEAD, now it's the 'HOTTEST' Country anywhere in the World," he wrote. "Let's keep it that way, and not waste Time and Energy on Jeffrey Epstein, somebody that nobody cares about."

If anything, the post only drew more attention to the matter. NBC News reported that searches for Epstein spiked after Trump’s post, which also received more negative responses from his own supporters than any other post on the platform — a platform dominated mainly by conservative voices.

Still, Trump is doubling down again. In a post on Wednesday morning, he wrote another seemingly furious message, blaming his own supporters for falling victim to the "Radical Left Democrats" and the "Jeffrey Epstein Hoax." He wrote, "Their new SCAM is what we will forever call the Jeffrey Epstein Hoax, and my PAST supporters have bought into this 'bullshit,' hook, line, and sinker. They haven't learned their lesson, and probably never will, even after being conned by the Lunatic Left for 8 long years."

Trump expressed frustration at the media continuing to report on Epstein, while criticizing his "past" supporters who continue to talk about the "hoax." He wrote, "Let these weaklings continue forward and do the Democrats work, don't even think about talking of our incredible and unprecedented success, because I don't want their support anymore! Thank you for your attention to this matter. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!"

Yes, he really just called his own supporters WEAKLINGS.

And judging by the replies, many are not taking it well. On a platform where Trump's posts typically receive nothing but praise, the backlash under this one was stark:

"Why is the Epstein case so important to the MAGA movement?" user @GreeksForTrump asked. "It’s WHY Trump won in 2016. He promised to rip the mask off the globalist elite and drain their filthy swamp. If the GOP betrays that mission again, at least a third of the base walks. And they will lose 2026. Guaranteed."

"Why was Epstein in prison then? How about Ghislaine? For a hoax? I don't think so. This is the hill we all die on," another wrote.

"People you nominated for your own administration talked about Epstein for years. Now you’re saying it never was, without giving us the proof? And you don’t want the support of your full base simply because they don’t believe what you do? 🤦‍♀️" this person asked.

"America wants the Truth no more no less we are tired of being lied to by all that are in office I have supported you Mr President but Your AG caused this and now she needs to fix it as I am not sure America will be able to trust anything she does in the future if this is not settled," another said.

And lastly, this supporter wrote: "Listen President Trump we don’t give a shit about Epstein, we want accountability and justice for the innocent that had to go through the hell Epstein and Maxwell and all the other elite PEDOPHILES have put them through! If you don’t want us as your voters then alright you may get what you ask for sir! I voted for you three times and I didn’t want to feel like this was a vote I would regret! Nothing has been done so far and I’m wondering if you are protecting these bastards now. We don’t trust Bondi either."

Meanwhile, on Monday, Republicans in the House blocked a Democratic maneuver that would have forced the release of all documents related to Epstein, a move that deepened frustration on both sides. In other words, while Trump may want to move on, it's not looking like the discussion around the Epstein case, even from his most fervent allies, is going away anytime soon.
