Who killed Jake Reiner’s parents?

Jake Reiner's parents, Rob and Michele were found dead in their home in Los Angeles in December 2025. Soon after the unexpected incident, Jake's brother, Nick Reiner was arrested and charged with first-degree murder. Jake Reiner opened up about his parents’ death

After nearly 4 months, Jake Reiner has finally opened up about the tragic incident, which took the life of his parents. On April 24, 2026, he published an essay on Substack. In the same, he revealed that he is heartbroken by the incident. He further described it as a living nightmare. A part of his essay can be read as:

"My parents won’t be at my wedding, they won’t get to hold their future grandchild, and they won’t get to see me have the successful career I’m still seeking. It simultaneously breaks my heart and enrages me. Nothing can prepare you for what it feels like to lose both parents instantly at the same time. It’s too devastating to comprehend. I still wake up every morning having to convince myself that, no, it’s not a dream. This truly is my living nightmare."

Further, he revealed that his parents were the last ones to go through such a tragic incident. Jake Reiner stated that his parents deserved to be happy, loved and respected; however destiny had very plans for them. An extract from the note said, "They were the last people in the world to deserve what happened to them. They deserved to be loved, they deserved to be respected, and above all they deserved to be appreciated for how much they gave to all three of us and to the world."
