Abducted Kaduna Christians Regain Freedom

A resident told TheCable on Wednesday that the remaining Christians held by the gunmen have now been released, bringing an end to the mass abduction that occurred last month.
Gunmen had stormed three churches in the community on January 18, abducting about 167 worshippers during church services. The police initially denied the incident but later confirmed that the abductions had taken place.
On February 1, 80 of the abducted worshippers were released, leaving others still in captivity until their release this week.
The source disclosed that the freed worshippers are currently in the custody of the Kaduna State Government, pending an official announcement.
As of the time of filing this report, authorities have not disclosed whether any ransom was paid or if security operations led to their release.
