by Oladipo Abiola · Naija NewsPresident Bola Tinubu, on Friday, paid a courtesy call on former President Muhammadu Buhari’s widow, Aisha, during his visit to Kaduna State.
Naija News reports that President Tinubu was accompanied on the visit to Buhari’s house by several Governors and chieftains of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
During the visit, Tinubu promised to uphold and honour the legacies of honesty, integrity and great character left behind by the late former President Buhari.
He told Mrs Buhari that though her husband is no longer present physically, his spirit continues to inspire greatness.
The Nigerian leader added that the purpose of the visit is to assure the entire Buhari family that they are not alone in the moment of grief and pain over the loss of the former President.
“We thank you and your family for a befitting effort of mourning and recognition given to late Muhammadu Buhari. We are just here to assure you that we share in your grief, we share in your pain.
“The loss of flesh is not the loss of spirit, the spirit that he left with us is the spirit of hardwork, dedication, patriotism and honesty. We will abide in that. We assure you and the entire family that we will continue the legacy of our leader, and the spirit that he left behind will not be stained,” Tinubu said.
He also prayed to God to grant Buhari eternal rest and unite Nigeria.
