Chaos At PDP Caucus Meeting As Security Operatives Eject Members, Shatter Glass Door

by · Naija News

There was pandemonium at the national headquarters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Monday as security operatives forcefully ejected two members from the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) Hall, disrupting the scheduled PDP caucus meeting.

Naija News reports that the meeting, which was to be held at the NEC Hall in Wadata Plaza, Abuja, quickly descended into chaos after some protocol officers insisted that the affected individuals had “no business being at the meeting.”

According to The Cable, in the course of the scuffle, security agents reportedly dragged out the two members, resulting in the shattering of a glass door at the venue.

Earlier in the day, Naija News reported that members of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the party were denied access to the same venue, as heavily armed policemen sealed off the premises.

Security operatives had reportedly taken over the PDP secretariat in Wuse Zone 5, blocking all entry points and preventing scheduled meetings from taking place.

The action comes amid escalating leadership tussles within the party, especially surrounding the National Secretary position and control of the National Working Committee (NWC).

The current crisis has further deepened factional divides within the PDP, with rival camps loyal to Acting National Chairman Ambassador Umar Damagum and Deputy National Chairman (South) Taofeek Arapaja at loggerheads over control of party structures.
