Bode George Insists On Punishment For Members Involved In Anti-party Activities Amid Reconciliation Moves With Wike’s Faction
by Rachel Okporu Fadoju · Naija NewsChieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Bode George, has said there will be punishment for members involved in anti-party activities despite the party’s reconciliation moves with the faction backed by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike.
Naija News reports that the PDP is moving towards reconciliation after the leadership of the Kabiru Turaki-led faction decided to adhere to the Ibadan Appeal Court’s advice to seek reconciliation.
The reconciliation is also in line with the suggestion of former Senate President, Bukola Saraki, who said it was time the party ended its frequent visits to the Court, especially with the guidelines of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), if there are any chances of presenting candidates for the 2027 elections.
However, Bode George, in an interview with ARISE Television on Thursday, reminisced about the turmoil within the PDP.
Asked whether there will be punishment for those who have obviously gone against the rules of the party, George said, “There will be. You know, you are either straight or you are awkward.
“If you are straight and you have the Almighty God, the fear of the Almighty God, ahead of you, you fear nothing. And I’m still not saying people don’t make mistakes.
“Life is a gale of happiness, a gale of sadness, a gale of hard times and good times.
“But if you think that is only the good times of life, you are going to be, you are mistaken, and if the Almighty God loves you as a person, he will take you to his own spiritual desert. And what would you find in that spiritual desert? You’ll find all kinds of tribulations, all kinds of trials, all kinds of unbelievable things, testing your faith. And if you are able to sustain yourself there, you will come out stronger. Look at me. I have seen the highest.”
