Dantata’s Burial In Saudi Arabia Postponed
by Oladipo Abiola · Naija NewsThe planned burial of the late Nigerian businessman and philanthropist, Aminu Dantata, set to take place in Saudi Arabia, has been postponed.
This development was announced by the Minister of Information, Mohammed Idris, during a chat with the BBC on Monday.
He narrated that the delay was due to the late arrival of the deceased’s body in Madinah, Saudi Arabia.
Naija News reports that the Minister added that the necessary paperwork for the arrival of the body from the UAE to Saudi Arabia is being filled out by the family and the government.
According to Idris, funeral arrangements have been concluded, and only the body is being awaited for burial.
“There are regulations set by the Saudi government on how to bring a body for burial in the country, so now the paperwork is being filled out between the Saudi government and the family of the deceased,” the minister said.
Recall that the Information Minister is part of the federal government delegation led by the Minister of Defence, Muhammad Badaru Abubakar, who had earlier arrived in Madina, Saudi Arabia, to receive the remains of late business mogul and elder statesman, Alhaji Aminu Dantata.
The Federal Government’s delegation departed Nigeria late on Sunday and touched down in the holy city of Medina in the early hours of Monday, ahead of the funeral rites.
