Soludo Sworn In For Second Term In Anambra Amid High-Profile Attendance

The inauguration ceremony took place on Tuesday at the newly renovated Alex Ekwueme Square in the state capital.
Soludo took the oath of office alongside his deputy, Onyeka Ibezim.
Naija News reports that the event attracted several high-profile personalities, including Vice President Kashim Shettima, as well as former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan.
Also in attendance were former Commonwealth Secretary-General Emeka Anyaoku and the Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, alongside other governors and dignitaries.
The Independent National Electoral Commission had earlier declared Soludo the winner of the November 8, 2025, governorship election in the state.
According to INEC, Soludo, who contested on the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), secured a total of 422,664 votes.
He defeated his closest rival, Nicholas Ukachukwu of the All Progressives Congress, who polled 99,445 votes.
The candidate of the Young Progressives Party, Paul Chukwuma, came third with 37,753 votes.
INEC disclosed that 16 candidates from various political parties participated in the election.
Out of the 2,788,864 registered voters in the state, 598,229 were accredited.
A total of 595,298 votes were cast, while 11,244 votes were rejected across the 21 local government areas of the state.
From the results announced, Soludo recorded a landslide victory, winning in all 21 local government areas of Anambra State.
The outcome further cemented his dominance in the state’s political landscape and secured him a fresh mandate to continue his administration.
