Man, 20s, charged in connection with public order incident in which garda was injured

The man, who is aged in his 20s, appeared before Dublin District Court earlier, when he was remanded in custody to appear again before Cloverhill District Court on Tuesday.
The incident allegedly occurred on Abbey Street around 1pm. A member of An Garda Síochána received injuries to his arm and was taken to the Mater hospital for treatment.
A spokesperson for An Garda Síochána said welfare services were being put in place for the injured member, and investigations are ongoing.
“The man… who was arrested in relation to this investigation has been charged,” they confirmed.
“He appeared before Dublin District Court at the Criminal Courts of Justice this afternoon, Saturday, 8th March 2025 where he was remanded in custody to appear again before Cloverhill District Court on Tuesday, 11th March 2025.
“As this matter is now before the courts there is no further information available,” they added.
