Woman, 20s, arrested after Gardai seize €91,000 of cannabis in Meath

Gardaí have arrested a woman in her 20s after seizing over €90,000 in cannabis following an operation in Meath.

Authorities seized approximately 4.55kgs of herbal cannabis with an estimated value of €91,000 in Navan on Friday following the intelligence-led operation, which involved a number of residential properties in the Navan area.

Gardaí arrested one woman, aged in her 20s, who was being detained in a Garda Station in Co. Meath under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

The seizure was made as part of an intelligence-led operation involving the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau, Meath Divisional Drugs Unit and Revenue Customs Service.

A Garda spokesperson added that investigations are ongoing and that no photos of the seizure are available.

A spokesperson for Revenue told the Irish Mirror: Today, as part of an intelligence-led operation, Revenue officers seized approximately 4.6 kgs of herbal cannabis, with an estimated value of €91,000 in Navan, Meath.

“This seizure was made as a result of a joint operation conducted by Revenue’s Customs Service, the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) and the Meath Divisional Drugs Unit.

“A woman in her 20s was arrested by An Garda Síochána and is currently detained at a Garda station in Co. Meath, under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.”

“This seizure is part of Revenue’s ongoing joint investigations involving organised crime groups and the importation, sale and supply of illegal drugs.
