Boakye Agyarko has pledged his support to newly elected NPP National Chairman John Boadu, urging party members to put their differences aside and unite ahead of the 2028 general elections.

Agyarko, who lost the chairmanship contest at the party’s National Delegates Conference in Kumasi on Saturday, October 3, congratulated Boadu in a statement issued on Sunday, October 4.

Boadu won with 2,888 votes, beating Agyarko, who polled 2,408. Former National Chairman Paul Afoko placed third with 790 votes, while Sammy Crabbe received 41.

Agyarko described the outcome as a reflection of the NPP’s democratic tradition and called on members to respect the delegates’ decision.

“Internal contests in our party are not battles between adversaries; they are family contests among brothers and sisters committed to the same sacred cause,” he said, urging members to move beyond the campaign and focus on rebuilding party unity.

He also congratulated the newly elected executives and thanked his campaign team, constituency executives and delegates in Ghana and the diaspora for supporting his bid.

Agyarko pledged to work with Boadu, the new National Executive Committee and flagbearer Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, saying the party’s priority must be victory in the 2028 presidential and parliamentary elections.

“Our supreme, non-negotiable objective remains the total, decisive victory of the New Patriotic Party in the 2028 Presidential and Parliamentary Elections,” he said.
