I remain strong and resolute – Baffour Awuah thanks Bawumia, MPs and Ghanaians after bail
by Miss Naa · MyNewsGh.comManhyia South MP Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah has thanked the New Patriotic Party (NPP) leadership, his parliamentary colleagues and Ghanaians for their support after he was granted bail in the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) investigation.
In a statement following his release, the MP expressed gratitude to those who offered prayers, messages and words of encouragement during his detention.
“I am deeply grateful for the overwhelming support, prayers and solidarity shown to me,” he said.
He also thanked Ghanaians who, in his view, had seen through what he described as government propaganda and stood by him.
“I am equally grateful to the many Ghanaians who have seen through the Government’s propaganda and stood firmly with me,” he stated.
Baffour Awuah specifically mentioned NPP flagbearer Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, his fellow MPs, the party’s leadership and members, as well as his family, friends and sympathisers.
He said the support he received had strengthened him and reaffirmed his resolve.
“Your calls, messages, presence and words of encouragement have meant a great deal to me. I remain strong, resolute and grateful,” he added.
The Manhyia South MP was granted GH¢10 million bail with two sureties by an Accra High Court on Saturday, October 3, after pleading not guilty to charges brought against him in connection with the EOCO investigation. The court directed him to make himself available to investigators as the case continues.
He ended his message with a prayer of appreciation to those who stood by him.
“God bless you all,” he said.
