Off-duty sergeant charged over alleged DV-related malicious damage incident

At about 12.15am on Saturday, officers launched an investigation into an incident allegedly committed by a police officer while off-duty.
Officers arrested the 59-year-old man and took him to Belmont Police Station where he was charged with destroy or damage property (DV).
The officer, who is a sergeant attached to a command in the Northern Region, was granted conditional bail.

He will appear at Belmont Local Court on July 13.
According to NSW Police, the officer's employment status is under review.
