Deadline reported in May that during a discussion at the Oval Office, Trump indicated that he would review the case and consider a pardon for Diddy if he believed the rapper had been treated unfairly, regardless of personal feelings.
“I would certainly look at the facts if I think somebody was mistreated, whether they like me or don’t like me. “It wouldn’t have any impact on me.” Trump was quoted to have said.
In a recent report by Deadline, an administration source was quoted as saying that the pardon for the rapper is now being “seriously considered”.

Another insider revealed that Diddy’s associates have been lobbying the White House, and the discussion has now shifted from speculation to a potential action.
However, the source noted that any final decision on the pardon will remain uncertain until the president signs off on it.
The news outlet disclosed that Marc Agnifilo and Teny Geragos, Diddy’s lawyers, have declined to comment on the potential pardon and are reportedly not heavily involved in the process.

The music mogul has been on trial since May, facing charges including kidnapping, arson, blackmail, and abuse involving multiple alleged victims, among them his ex-partner Cassie Ventura.
Though cleared of the most severe charges, the 55-year-old still faces years in prison for the prostitution-related conviction.
His arrest in September 2024 followed allegations from over 120 accusers, including a minor.
In July, the rapper’s request for bail was denied, and he was ordered to remain in custody until his sentencing hearing.
