Saif Ali Khan has been in the hospital since January 16. The actor faced a gruesome attack after an intruder entered his home in wee hours of Thursday. The Omkara actor was reportedly stabbed six times as he tried to save his family. Later, he was rushed to Lilavati Hospital wherein he underwent a surgery. Doctors revealed to the media that he is recovering well. As per reports, there are chances that Saif Ali Khan may get discharged today.

As per a report in news agency IANS, Saif Ali Khan may get discharged later today, January 21. However, the doctors have advised that he continues to rest for a few more days. Post January 16, the doctors of Lilavati Hospital had revealed that a surgery was carried out to remove a piece of knife from Saif Ali Khan's spinal cord. To the media, Dr Dange was quoted saying, "He sustained severe injuries to the thoracic spinal cord, with a knife lodged in the spine. Emergency surgery was performed to remove the knife and repair the leaking spinal fluid."

Saif Ali Khan's attacker arrested

After three days of the attack, the intruder was reportedly arrested by Mumbai Police from Thane. His name is said to be Shariful Islam Shehzad Mohammad Rohilla Amin Fakir. There are a lot of reports suggesting that the attacker hails from Bangladesh. Reportedly, he was taken back to Saif Ali Khan's home in order to recreate the crime scene. Allegedly, post attacking Saif Ali Khan, the attacker hid in the garden for two hours before marking his exit. He was afraid of getting caught.

Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sara Ali Khan, Soha Ali Khan and Ibrahim Ali Khan are paying constant visits to Saif Ali Khan to the hospital. Arjun Kapoor, Malaika Arora and others have also paid him a visit over the past few days.
