Former President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday, April 11, hosted a strong contingent of opposition leaders at his residence n Kaduna state.
Legit.ng reported that the opposition figures who visited Buhari were led by a former vice president and the 2023 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar.
Confirming the visit, Atiku shared a post on his X page, accompanied by a video, on Friday, April 11.
The video showed the moment Muhammadu Buhari received Atiku and his men with warmth and humour.
The political figures exchanged pleasantries as some bowed to greet the former Nigerian leader.
Atiku wrote:
“As the Waziri Adamawa, I was obligated to be in my Adamawa during the Sallah celebrations. I held forth for the Lamido Fombina (Adamawa) in some of the activities of the Sallah celebrations. Today, I had the opportunity to pay a post-Sallah visit to His Excellency, Muhammadu Buhari, President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 2015-2023. It was a wonderful time with him. As usual, he cracked me up (to the extent that my ribs were hurting) with his peculiar humour.”
Accompanying Atiku were influential figures like former ministers, governors, and senior political officeholders.

- Former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai;
- Former Benue State Governor, Gabriel Suswan;
- Former Adamawa Governor, Jibrilla Bindow.

Meanwhile, political analyst Hammas Hayatu, in an exclusive interview with Legit.ng outlined what El-Rufai, Obi and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar must concede to make an alliance against the APC work.
According to him, personal ambition, party ego, and ideological differences must be sacrificed for the coalition to stand a chance.
“In a coalition, we are talking about what is everyone bringing to the table," he said.
