President Bola Tinubu congratulated the Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) on the successful revitalization of the Port Harcourt refinery, marking the official commencement of petroleum product loading on November 26, 2024. This milestone is a significant step towards achieving energy sufficiency in Nigeria.
The President acknowledged the crucial role played by former President Muhammadu Buhari in initiating the comprehensive rehabilitation of Nigeria's refineries. He also expressed gratitude to the African Export-Import Bank for financing the project and commended the leadership of NNPC Limited's Group Chief Executive Officer, Mele Kyari, for his dedication and commitment to overcoming challenges.

Tinubu then urged the NNPCL to expedite the reactivation of the second Port Harcourt refinery, as well as the Warri and Kaduna refineries. This move aims to enhance domestic production capacity and establish Nigeria as a major energy hub.

Seyi Tinubu, Obasa set tone for 2027 governorship election
Legit.ng earlier reported that Seyi Tinubu, the son of President Bola Tinubu, who was recently endorsed by some groups to succeed Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has continued to create a buzz in the state.
The tone for the 2027 Lagos State governorship election was set after the speaker of the State House of Assembly, Musashiru Obasa, refuted the claim of selfish ambition and that he was qualified to govern the state.
