1 cop killed, another injured in gunfight with Jaish terrorists in J&K's Kathua

An Assistant Sub-Inspector of the Jammu-Kashmir was killed after the security forces engaged three to four Jaish terrorists in Kathua's Bilawar area.

One policeman was killed and another was injured after a fierce gunfight broke out between security forces and Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Kathua on Saturday evening.

Head Constable Bashir Ahmad was killed while Assistant Sub-Inspector of Jammu-Kashmir Police sustained bullet injuries after the security forces engaged three to four Jaish terrorists in Kathua's Bilawar area, officials said.

Earlier, based on specific intelligence about the presence of terrorists, a joint search operation was launched by the security forces in a village in Kathua. A few rounds were fired from both sides after a contact was established.

Operations are underway.
