Vijay's father invites Congress for alliance with TVK in Tamil Nadu

As the election results for all two hundred and thirty-four assembly seats in Tamil Nadu are declared, the TVK has emerged as a major political force but falls slightly short of the majority mark. With the party securing around one hundred and eleven seats, it requires a coalition partner to cross the magic number of one hundred and seventeen to form the state government. In a significant political development, the father of the TVK chief has extended an open invitation to the Congress party for an alliance. He stated that the TVK is willing to share power with the Congress to secure the necessary numbers.
