Ludhiana man stabs wife to death after Australia return, sent son out for milk

A 49-year-old woman who recently returned from Australia was found murdered at her home in Ludhiana's Vikas Nagar area on Sunday. Her husband, Ravinder Singh, has been detained by the police on suspicion of involvement in the killing. The woman's son discovered her body lying in a pool of blood after returning home from a local market.

The victim was identified as Kamaldeep Kaur. She had multiple injuries caused by a sharp-edged weapon, including wounds to her stomach and neck. According to preliminary information, her son, Gagandeep Singh, found her lying on a bed in a pool of blood when he returned home.

The incident came to light after Ravinder sent Gagandeep out to buy some items from a nearby market. When Gagandeep returned, he saw his father leaving the house in a hurry. On being questioned, Ravinder reportedly asked him to check inside the house.

Gagandeep then entered the house and found his mother in a critical condition. He immediately raised an alarm and alerted neighbours. With their assistance, he rushed Kamaldeep to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared her dead.

Following the incident, senior police officials and a team from Dugri police station reached the spot and began an investigation. The police also examined the circumstances surrounding the woman's death and questioned family members to establish the sequence of events.

HUSBAND DETAINED, INFIDELITY SUSPICION UNDER PROBE

Police have detained Ravinder in connection with the murder. Preliminary information suggests that he suspected his wife of infidelity. Investigators are examining whether these suspicions played a role in the killing. However, the exact motive has not yet been established, and further investigation is underway.

The couple had travelled to Australia to visit their younger son, who lives there. Kamaldeep returned to India around four months ago, while Ravinder came back on October 29, just two days before the incident.
