Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu undertook an unannounced visit to Abu Dhabi on Sunday, meeting United Arab Emirates President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan amid the escalating West Asia crisis. According to a senior Israeli official, the meeting reinforced regional diplomacy and addressed domestic security challenges. The visit followed a controversial newspaper report alleging that an Emirati leader had warned Israel of a major Hamas operation a week prior to the October 7, 2023 attacks, a claim strongly denied by Netanyahu. Neither the Israeli Prime Minister's Office nor the UAE Foreign Ministry issued an immediate comment regarding the talks, which occur ahead of Israeli elections.
