A daredevil stunt went wrong in Gujarat’s Surat when a 21-year-old man plunged around 40 feet from a railway overbridge and landed on a parked auto-rickshaw. The incident was captured on CCTV.
The man, identified as Monu, originally from Bihar and currently working in Surat, had reached the Kim Railway Overbridge with a friend.
According to reports, the two climbed onto pillars of the bridge, where Monu attempted to jump between two pillars through a metal gap. He lost his balance mid-stunt and plunged towards the road below.
He reportedly lost his balance and fell.
CCTV footage shows him falling onto the auto-rickshaws parked by the roadside.
People nearby immediately rushed to help Monu, who suffered minor injuries, while the autorickshaw was damaged.
A police officer told Aaj Tak, India Today's sister channel, that Monu fell from the overbridge while performing a stunt.
However, in his statement to police, Monu reportedly claimed that he was in a hurry to get a ticket at the railway station and had taken a shortcut under the overbridge, resulting in the accident.
