Actor Trisha was clicked outside TVK (Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam) chief and actor Vijay's residence in Chennai at around 1:30 pm on Monday as early trends showed his party leading in over 100 seats and topping the vote share in Tamil Nadu. The actor, who had visited Tirupati in the early hours of Monday to mark her 43rd birthday, arrived in a white car and briefly smiled for the cameras before heading inside.

Actor-turned-politician Vijay's Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) is emerging as a formidable force in Tamil Nadu, with early counting trends pointing to a dramatic shake-up of the state's political landscape. In its debut election, the party has surged past the 100-seat mark and is inching closer to the majority figure of 117.

As per initial leads, TVK is ahead in around 110 constituencies, putting it well ahead of its rivals. The ruling DMK-led alliance appears to be on the back foot, leading in just over 50 seats, while the AIADMK bloc is holding steady with leads in the 70-plus range after the first rounds of counting.

Vijay himself is leading in key constituencies, including Perumbur and Trichy East. In a significant development, Chief Minister MK Stalin and his son Udhayanidhi Stalin are trailing in Kolathur and Chepauk, respectively, according to early trends.

If these numbers hold, they would validate pollster Pradeep Gupta of Axis My India, whose projections of 98-120 seats for TVK had stood out from the rest of the exit polls.

Speculation around Vijay's equation with frequent co-star Trisha has been doing the rounds for some time. The two were last seen together in the 2023 film Leo, and reignited chatter earlier this year after appearing together at a colleague's wedding reception in Chennai. Clips from the event quickly went viral, fuelling fresh rumours.

The buzz intensified after Vijay's wife, Sangeetha Sornalingam, made details of their divorce proceedings public. In her petition, she alleged that the actor was involved with a fellow actor, though she did not name anyone.

Vijay and Sangeetha had filed for divorce in December 2025.
