FBI adds fugitive Goldy Brar to its 10 most wanted list, offers $1 million reward

Satinderjeet Singh, alias Goldy Brar, has been added to the FBI's Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list over alleged links to organised crime, targeted killings, extortion and narcotics trafficking. The FBI has announced a reward of up to USD 1 million for information leading to his arrest.

Fugitive Satinderjeet Singh, alias Goldy Brar, has been added to the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list over his involvement in organised crime, targeted killings, extortion and narcotics trafficking.

The FBI announced Brar’s addition on September 28, making him the 543rd fugitive to be placed on the Ten Most Wanted list since its inception in 1950. The agency is offering a reward of up to USD 1 million for information leading to his arrest.

Brar is wanted in the US on federal charges including racketeer influenced and corrupt organisations conspiracy, conspiracy to interfere with and attempted interference with commerce by extortion, and conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute controlled substances.

The FBI has warned that Brar is considered extremely violent, armed and dangerous. He is known to reside in California and various parts of Canada.

FBI LINKS BRAR TO LAWRENCE BISNOI GANG

According to the FBI, Brar is a leader of the Lawrence Bishnoi organised crime group in North America. The group has been accused of involvement in targeted killings, shootings, murders, kidnappings, extortion and the trafficking of narcotics and weapons in the US, Canada and elsewhere.

Brar was among the fugitives identified during Operation Hardball, a years-long federal investigation into India-based transnational organised crime groups. In July, US authorities announced charges against 37 defendants linked to three such groups.

According to the FBI, one of the indictments focused on the Bishnoi enterprise, with Brar allegedly serving as one of its leaders and helping direct members and associates of the organisation worldwide.

BISHNOI, BRAR ACCUSED OF ORDERING NIJJAR KILLING

One of the most serious allegations in the US indictment relates to the June 2023 killing of Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Canada.

The FBI alleges that Lawrence Bishnoi and Brar ordered the killing of a prominent leader from Punjab who was living in Canada. The person, identified in court documents as “H.S.N.”, was shot dead outside a Sikh temple in Surrey, British Columbia, on June 18, 2023.

The FBI's description refers to Hardeep Singh Nijjar, who was shot dead outside a gurdwara in British Columbia. India had designated Nijjar a terrorist.

Brar has previously claimed responsibility for Nijjar's killing, saying that he and his gang were behind the murder.

NIJJAR KILLING TRIGGERED INDIA-CANADA ROW

The killing of Nijjar became a major source of tension between India and Canada after then-Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau alleged in Parliament that Canadian intelligence agencies were investigating possible links between Indian government agents and the killing.

India rejected the allegation as “absurd” and has consistently denied any involvement in Nijjar's killing.

The FBI's current allegations against Brar and Bishnoi are part of a US federal case.

FBI ALLEGES DRUG TRAFFICKING, EXTORTION

The federal indictment also alleges that the Bishnoi enterprise was involved in a range of violent and organised criminal activities.

Investigators allege that the enterprise stole approximately 520 kilograms of cocaine from rival drug-trafficking groups in the greater Los Angeles area between March 2024 and July 2025.

FBI Los Angeles Assistant Director in Charge Patrick Grandy described Brar as a dangerous individual and said the agency had made his apprehension a priority.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police said Brar's addition to the FBI's Ten Most Wanted list reflected cooperation between law enforcement agencies in the US and Canada.

PUBLIC WARNED NOT TO APPROACH BRAR

The FBI has advised members of the public not to approach Brar. Anyone with information about his whereabouts has been asked to contact the FBI, a local law enforcement agency or the nearest US embassy or consulate.

Brar is being prosecuted in the US District Court for the Central District of California.
