Terrorists targeting India will get befitting reply: PM Modi on 16 years of 26/11

Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid homage to the victims of the Mumbai terror attacks and said that terrorist organisations challenging the security of India would get a "befitting reply".

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Tuesday that terrorist organisations challenging the security of India would get a "befitting reply". During his address during the Constitution Day celebrations in the Supreme Court, he paid homage to the victims of the Mumbai terror attacks.

“At a time when we are commemorating this crucial festival of democracy, we cannot forget that today is also the anniversary of the terror attack in Mumbai. I pay homage to those who lost their lives in this attack. I reiterate the country’s resolve that every terrorist organisation challenging India’s security will be given a befitting reply,” the Prime Minister said.

The Prime Minister said that the Constitution was not only "a lawyer's document", but "a guiding light" for everyone.

"The Constitution is our guiding light, it shows us the right path. We have seen the Emergency era as well," he said.

He said that the Constitution had been "fully implemented" in Jammu and Kashmir as well, for the first time.

“We have seen the Emergency in the country - our Constitution has faced this challenge that arose before democracy. It’s the power of the constitution, that today, in Jammu and Kashmir, Babasaheb Ambedkar’s Constitution is fully implemented. Today, for the first time, Constitution Day is celebrated there,” he said.
