He conveyed that India's objective is to proof the system against such shocks by creating more resilient supply chains. A key assertion made during the address was, "the multilateral system appears to be failing the world." Dr. Jaishankar said India strongly believes in protecting and nurturing an international trading system based on foundational principles of being open, fair, transparent, non-discriminatory, and rules-based, which includes special and differential treatment for developing countries.
