Lawyer slaps Jamui molestation accused, says he should have been shot dead

A lawyer slapped a man accused of molesting a minor girl in Bihar’s Jamui after he was produced in court on Wednesday. The accused, Hareram Yadav, was being escorted by police when lawyer Akash Pandey approached him and slapped him on the court premises. Speaking after the incident, Pandey said the accused should not have been merely slapped and claimed he “should have been shot dead." Asked whether he had taken the law into his own hands, Pandey said he was ready to accept whatever punishment the law decided to give him.
