Singapore welcomes Israel-Hamas deal to begin first phase of Trump plan to end Gaza conflict: MFA
by Angelica Ang · The Straits TimesSINGAPORE - Singapore welcomes the pact between Israel and Hamas to start the first stage of US President Donald Trump’s proposed plan to end the Gaza conflict, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA).
An MFA spokesman, in a statement on Oct 9, said the ceasefire and release of hostages
will bring great relief to the people in Gaza and Israel.
He said: “Singapore commends the leadership of President Trump and the tireless efforts of all the mediators involved, especially the US, Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey, who have been instrumental in securing this agreement.
“We urge all parties to make further progress towards resolving outstanding issues in subsequent phases.”
He added that it is vital to create conditions conducive to the reconstruction of Gaza, and to achieve stability, security, and peace throughout the Middle East.
