President Droupadi Murmu meets FM College student who attempted self-immolation

Bhubaneswar: President Droupadi Murmu met the Fakir Mohan Autonomous College student who is undergoing treatment at AIIMS Bhubaneswar after attempting self-immolation.

President met the 20-year-old girl at the special unit after attending the convocation ceremony of AIIMS Bhubaneswar, enquired about her health condition and wished her speedy recovery.

The First Citizen of the country also held a discussion about the her treatment with the team of doctors. She also met the student’s parents and expressed her sympathy.

Odisha Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan also accompanied her.

It is to be noted here the the B.Ed Second year student attempted self-immolation on Saturday as now action was taken against her HoD Samir Kumar Sahu who repeatedly sought sexual favour from her. She even had informed about her problem to all the concerned persons and officials and shared it on social media platform.

While prime accused Samir Kumar Sahu was suspended and arrested on Sunday, Dilip Ghosh, the Suspended principal of the college, was also arrested today by the Sahadevkhunta police.
