Vaishno Devi Yatra resumed as weather gets better, see details

Katra: The Vaishno Devi Yatra has started again. The temple of the goddess, which was closed for three weeks, has reopened for devotees. The yatra, which was closed for 22 consecutive days, has started from today. The yatra was stopped due to bad weather.
The yatra was suspended after a landslide in Vaishno Devi on August 26. In this incident, 34 devotees lost their lives and 20 others were injured. Earlier, the yatra was announced to start on September 14, but it was postponed due to continuous heavy rain.
The devotees are happy that the yatra has started. The devotees have gathered from the Banganga Darshani Gate and started the yatra. The shrine board official said that the yatra started from 6 am on both the routes. The devotees have been asked to carry a valid identity card for the yatra. Security forces have been deployed for the safety of all the devotees.
The Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board has posted on social media, saying, “Jai Mata Di, Vaishno Devi pilgrimage has resumed from 17th September 2025 (Wednesday) keeping in view the favorable weather conditions. The devotees are requested to contact the authorities and get information.
However, the devotees were disappointed that the pilgrimage was closed for the last few days. Everyone is happy after the pilgrimage started. After the pilgrimage was stopped, the devotees demonstrated there.

It is worth noting that the pilgrimage of the mother was stopped on 26th August due to a landslide. Most of the repair work on the road to the cave temple has been completed. After this, the pilgrimage has resumed. The pilgrimage was suspended keeping in mind the safety of the devotees.
