15 days and still no signs of breathing at partially collapsed tunnel in Telanagana
by KalingaTV Bureau · KalingaTVNagakurnool: Rescue operation is underway at a rapid pace inside the partially collapsed SLBC tunnel in telangana as Cadaver dogs locate human presence identified at two possible spots.
Since 22 February, 8 people engineers and labourers have been trapped at SriSailam Left Bank Canal (SLBC) project tunnel in Telangana. The experts from the NDRF, Indian Army, Navy and other agencies have been making relentless efforts to pull the people out of the tunnel safely.
Recently, on the request from Telangana’s state disaster management and national disaster management, Kerala police sent a team of Cadaver dogs of Belgian Malinois breed to search for the people trapped in the tunnel. The dogs have been specially trained in detecting the signs of human even at 15feet depth. The dogs along with their handlers went inside the tunnel on Friday morning for search operation.
Before that, NDRF team and the rescue personnel sent Sniffer dogs after digging up the tunnel to identify any human presence in the tunnel.
Amidst the water seepage, slush problems and other challenging conditions the rescue operation has been going on, ensuring for a safe rescue of the 8 people trapped in the tunnel.
