FM college incident: 10-member doctor team appointed to treat girl student

Balasore: The condition of the Balasore FM College girl student is still critical. She is fighting for her life in Bhubaneswar AIIMS. The girl reportedly has 95 percent burn injuries.

According to reports, the next 24 hours are crucial for the patient. A 10-member medical team is engaged in her treatment. Bhubaneswar AIIMS doctors are in touch with the Delhi AIIMS medical team.

AIIMS has informed that the patient’s dialysis has started since yesterday evening. The government is ready to airlift the student if necessary provided, if the condition improves.

Reports said that, 90 to 95 percent of the patient’s body is burnt. The kidneys and lungs of the girl have been affected. Last Saturday, a student tried to kill self by pouring petrol on her body in the FM Autonomous College campus.

She is being treated in AIIMS Bhubaneswar in a critical condition. The victim is an Integrated B.Ed student, and had filed a written complaint against the college’s Head of Education, Sameer Sahu, alleging sexual harassment.

As no action was taken against the professor, she finally tried to kill self by pouring petrol on herself and setting herself on fire.
