Thai woman arrested for seducing and blackmailing Buddhist monks!

New Delhi: A shocking scandal has rocked Thailand’s Buddhist community after a woman known as “Ms Golf,” identified as Wilawan Emsawat, was arrested for seducing and blackmailing senior monks.

According to police, Ms Golf engaged in secret sexual relationships with at least nine monks and then used intimate photos and videos to extort money from them.

The investigation revealed that over 385 million baht (approximately Rs 101 crore) had passed through Ms Golf’s bank accounts over the past three years, with much of it believed to have been spent on online gambling sites.

Police seized over 80,000 photos and videos from her house, which were used for blackmail.

The scandal has led to the expulsion of prominent monks and ignited government-led reforms aimed at restoring faith in monastic leadership.
