8 killed after passenger bus falls into gorge in Himachal Pradesh

New-Delhi: At least eight people were killed and several others injured after a private bus plunged into a deep gorge in the Sirmaur district of Himachal Pradesh on Friday.

The bus was en route from Kupvi to Shimla when the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle, causing it to plunge into a deep gorge. Eight deaths have been reported till now in the mishap, Sirmaur SP Nishchint Singh Negi said.

On being informed, police and rescue teams rushed to the spot. Injured passengers were evacuated from the gorge and rushed to nearby hospitals for medical aid.

The police have registered a case and initiated an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident.
