Bengaluru: Congress leader D. K. Shivakumar is all set to take oath as the Chief Minister of Karnataka. After a long journey to power, he is ready to lead the state, becoming one of the most powerful political leaders in Karnataka.

The swearing-in ceremony will take place at Lok Bhavan in Bengaluru, where Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot will administer him the oath of office and secrecy. Along with him, a section of his ministers is also expected to take oath in this first leg of cabinet formation.

On Monday, he met senior Congress leaders, including Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi, to finalize the composition of his new cabinet. They discussed how to strike a balance across caste, regional, and political factions in the new cabinet.

“Thanks to the Gandhi family for always backing me and always believing in me and trusting me”, was what he said after meeting the leaders to decide the cabinet formation. “We are committed to working towards building a progressive and inclusive Karnataka.”

The new transition is being watched very keenly to decide the way and direction of Congress in Karnataka.
