Delhi liquor shops to shut early amid ongoing CJP protest

New Delhi: All the liquor shops in Delhi have been asked to be closed by 8 pm by end of the weekend as security measures were tightened due to ongoing Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) protests after alleged NEET paper leak.

The police has suggested Delhi to close liquor shops early to avoid any violation of order at night.

As per officials, all the retail liquor vends across the national capital are expected to close by 8pm until the weekend is over.

The demonstrations over allegations of paper leak are being held at Jantar Mantar and nearby area, leading to increased security, especially at a number of places in Delhi with traffic restrictions.

The shops are being closed early in light of increased security measures put in place by the city administration over past couple of days.

In addition to, traffic curbs, police have also announced about station closure and diversion of traffic due to ongoing protests.

However the security measures are likely to remain enforced until the situation is improved.

Officials have requested citizens to maintain cooperation and follow the instructions being issued by the Delhi Police until the security is fully restored in the capital.
